I'm Jason Belk. I'm a software engineer at Cisco Systems by day and an AI consultant for Reno businesses on the side.
I have a B.S. in Computer Science, spent years at Network to Code (a specialized consulting firm), and now build AI-powered prototypes and automations in my own time. I know what works, what doesn't, and when the honest answer is "you don't need AI for that."

How do I use AI for my small business?
Start with the workflows that already burn time — invoicing, customer email triage, weekly reporting, scheduling. Pick one. Use a single AI tool to do it well. See if it sticks. Most small businesses don't need a custom integration to start; they need someone to point them at the right tool and the right workflow. That's what the training and consulting offerings are built around.
How much does AI training and consulting cost?
AI training runs $1,200 for a single 1–2 hour session, $5,000 for a 5-session pack, or $9,000 for a 10-session pack. Workshop days start at $2,500/day. Advisory sessions are $350/hr (1-hour minimum). Monthly automation retainers are $4,000–$6,000/month. Pilot quarters start at $20,000. You'll always know the price before any work begins.
Do I need to be technical?
Not at all. Most of my clients aren't technical — that's why they hire me. You explain what your business needs in plain English, and I handle the technical side. If I start using jargon, call me out.
Do you only work with Reno businesses?
Reno is my home base, and I prefer working with local clients — there's real value in being able to meet in person. That said, I'm happy to work remotely if the project is a good fit.
What if the project doesn't work out?
Every project starts with a clear scope and price. If we discover mid-project that the approach isn't working, I'll tell you directly and we'll adjust. I don't charge for work that doesn't deliver value, and I don't pad hours. If I can't solve your problem, I'll say so.
Is this your full-time job?
No — I'm a software engineer at Cisco during the day. Sierra Code Co. is a side practice. That means I'm selective about the projects I take on, which means you get my full attention, not a junior developer. It also means I have no incentive to oversell you — I don't need your project to make rent.
What happens after the project is done?
You own everything I build. I hand over all code, documentation, and credentials. If you want ongoing support, we can set up a monthly retainer. If not, no hard feelings — you have everything you need to run it yourself or hand it to another developer.
